2022 kicks off with Ghosts at Hampton Court!

Sarah Slater has been confirmed as the Speaker for our Virtual meeting at 11am on Thursday 20th January 2022. She will talk about   ‘Working with the ghosts of Hampton Court Palace’ . Members may remember that Sarah gave a memorable talk during 2021, on Sex and Scandals! and is back by popular demand for a new presentation. 

 

Sarah says; “Having spent twenty three years working full time within the Retail Banking Sector I decided that I wanted to spend more time with my young children. The time was right a career change, so I moved sectors into Heritage.

I began working at Hampton Court Palace for Historic Royal Palaces in 2008 as a State Apartment Warder and Tourist Guide. I trained as a Guide Lecturer gaining my White Badge as an Affiliate of the Institute of Tourist Guiding.”

 

‘Working with the ghosts of Hampton Court Palace’ is a very popular talk. Sarah will wear one of her costumes whilst she talks about her experiences working with the ghosts at Hampton Court Palace. Sarah will give a glimpse of what it is like to wander the galleries late at night on her own in the dark, she will lead you on an exploration of the history, stories and sightings of some of the ghosts of Hampton Court Palace that have been reported over the last few hundred years.

Sarah enjoys theatre, she belongs to her local drama group and is a founding member of Ottershaw Night Owls Women’s Institute. Sarah Slater, lives in Surrey with her family.
