October 21st – Stop Press!

I am pleased to report that this morning’s ‘Coffee Morning’ talk, by Rose Hewlett on the Great Severn Flood of 1607 – was a great success, with over 65 people enjoying the tour of the areas affected by the conjunction of high tide and a storm surge on that fateful January morning. A report will be posted on the talk as soon as it is available,

September was a different story…

So, on the basis that it is good to admit one’s (honest) mistakes, after over a year of successful Coffee Morning talks being delivered to our members using the Zoom system, last month we had a DISASTER! Our speaker, Marilyn Bishop, was initially unable to login to the meeting and when she did – using an alternative machine – we found that she could not hear us even though we could hear her – AND we could not see her illustrations for the talk!!  After ten minutes of fruitless fiddling we had to accept that the talk was NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.  What a shame!

We hope to be able to re-arrange the event for 2022, so watch this News column for more info over the next months.
