Even if you haven’t read any of Dostoevsky’s books, you will learn what it felt like living in 19th century Russia and the influencing factors in his work. I am certain that upon reading this cleverly written biography you will want to read or re-read Dostoevsky’s novels.

Sounds like an excellent way to ‘ease’ oneself into Dostoevsky.  I read a few when a teenage but admit I have not felt motivated to read any more, until now!
