An introduction to Interest Groups

An Interest Group is people focusing on a topic or activity with a common shared interest. The U3A ‘philosophy’ of mutual support (Click here for an outline of U3A principles) means that the Interest Groups are key activities. The interest groups range far and wide, from socially-oriented groups such as the Luncheon Club and theatre trips, through enjoying games like Scrabble and Chess, to learning languages collaboratively or undertaking research on the local area.

No interest group already for YOUR topic or activity?   Why not start one?  Find out more about convening a group here.

Increasingly, our communications and activities use ‘new’ technology, where it suits the Group – it can be MORE inclusive than meeting in person – remember that not all can easily leave home or travel far.   Our IT Champions can help, why not find out more?
