Finance and record keeping

We recommend that you keep a register of members’ attendance at meetings, particularly if you are collecting money from them to cover expenses (for room hire, refreshments, outings etc). 

Keep a list of your group members and their contact details, and it’s up to Convenors to ensure that their group members’ subscription to this U3A is current.  Non-members are not covered by U3A insurance.  If you are unsure whether someone attending your group is up to date with their subscription, please ask the Membership Secretary to check the membership database.

 We do not expect Convenors to be out of pocket by running a group.  Where a cost is involved, you should recoup this from participants.  We recommend that you do not collect more than £70 for advance room hire.
