This is a quick start guide for iPad users who have received a Zoom invitation by email and wish to participate in a meeting. It also applies to iPhones – but screens will be constrained in meetings greater than one-to-one, and for this reason, tablets and laptops/workstations should be preferred if available.
It is free to participate in a meeting.
To install Zoom on your iPad, you need to go to the iPad’s App Store:
Note that you should not use Safari or another browser to search for ‘Zoom download’ – other download options are called Zoom, and may mislead you.
Use the search bar to search for ‘Zoom’- and look for Zoom Cloud Meetings:
Click on ‘Get’, and the app will be installed. The ‘Get’ button will turn into an ‘Open’ button. Click ‘Open’ to launch the app. You will see the following screen:
Congratulations – you’ve installed Zoom! In this section, we are only interested in participating in a meeting that someone else has scheduled, so we can leave this screen alone for now, but do please note that the installation process has now added the Zoom icon, so that in future you will just need to click this to start Zoom:
